42Live developed a Pay-Per-View video player system for football clubs to allow fans to watch the 2020 Preseason Football.
Using in-house or freelance camera operators with LiveU LU600 Backpack 4G encoders we where able to stream from football grounds back to our Cloud Based LiveU Server and on to our ‘Eddie’ platform to be transcoded and then distributed as a Pay-Per-View Player for clubs to embed onto their the websites.
When each club received their own embed iframe link it already had an integrated paywall so the setup was very easy, some clubs such as Peterborough United had a playlist on their website, so fans could also watch on demand videos of previous matches.
The aim of using this Pay-PV system was to allow football clubs to create some revenue during lockdown of the COVID19 pandemic, and allow fans to continue supporting their clubs.
